As the lead consultant teaming up with LFA Pacific, we prepared urban design studies for the Fairfield City Centre in conjunction with the Smithfield Town Centre and Yennora Neighbourhood Centre. The urban design study provided a place-based framework to guide the future redevelopment and revitalisation of Fairfield City by establishing new high quality opportunities for housing, public open space and enhanced connectivity to support a growing City Centre population. The study established the urban design and place making rationale for amending planning controls under the LEP and DCP. The methodology involved consulting widely with landowners and community groups to get to know each place, the people, landowner aspirations and opportunities and constraints influencing development outcomes.
